Is Multi-Level Marketing Bad?

Is Multi-Level Marketing Bad?

Is Multi-Level Marketing bad?  Well, it depends on who you talk to.  There are always two sides of a situation.  I will look at both sides and let you come up with your own conclusion.

First, let me tell you how MLMs work.  Most companies use the normal marketing plans by advertising on TV, magazines, radio, newspapers, etc.  MLM companies set up compensation plans that have people sell their products to customers and recruit other people to do the same as they do to create a distributor organization.  There are MLM companies that have been around for over 60 years.

For the people that have had bad experiences, there are a few possibilities that have given them their opinion being so negative.

Some people join a MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) company thinking that they will get rich overnight.  This is not true.  It takes time to learn and build your team that will bring you success.  These people tend to quit and say that MLMs don’t work and are bad.

There are some people that don’t have great leadership and don’t get the training to help them learn how to build a great team.  These people tend to quit not understanding the concept and since they have a bad experience, they tend to bash all MLM companies.

Some companies are not based on either a product or service.  The government frowns on this and will have the company close its doors.  The distributors are now left in the cold and must either go back to corporate America or find another MLM company to start building all over again.  This can be disheartening, and the distributors get burnt out and don’t want to start all over again.

There are some people that don’t know exactly how the MLM’s work, but they put in their two cents because their Aunt Glady’s best friend’s brother had a bad experience and blasted all MLM companies.  They never researched what happened and how MLMs work.  They went on the word of mouth of someone that they don’t even know.

For the people that have success with MLM, they are in it for the long haul.  They like the products, the company and their team.  They are consistently working on getting customers and other people that have the same entrepreneurial spirit that they have who want to make residual income.  What helps with their success is that they have a great sponsor, great upline, great training and understand that this is not a get rich quick process.  It is a steady, consistent process that gets you to the finish line.
