Tired of rejections? Do you want to know the secret to network marketing without recruiting?
I will be honest with you, I was quite surprised I even joined a network marketing company. MLM (Multi-Level Marketing) really isn’t my cup of tea. Why?
Recruiting!
The traditional MLM training is literally toe-curling for me. I don’t want to make a list of family and friends and pester them to make a sale or join my team. I don’t want to be connecting to random people on Facebook or LinkedIn and immediately sending a DM with an offer – it’s cringeworthy, and just asking for rejection after rejection. The constant battle to build your business can be soul-destroying.
Do you feel the same?
Let’s face it, most people don’t care about you, your products or your network marketing business opportunity. Your upline can give you as many cut and paste scripts as they like, the hard truth is most people do not want to be sold to or feel pressured to join your team. People will (and do!) actively avoid network marketers who use those tired sales techniques!
The secret to network marketing without recruiting, nagging friends and family or bugging random strangers on social media is attraction marketing.
Let me explain…
Attraction marketing helps to set you apart from other network marketers by focusing your marketing efforts on what makes your products and team the more attractive option. By creating content valuable to your potential customer, it drives their interest in what you do and builds your reputation.
3 Steps to Network Marketing Without Recruiting That You Can Easily Implement
- Define your customer
Consider your products. What type of person wants to buy your products or join your team? In my HB Naturals team training, I was told that your ideal customer often looks just like you.
And it’s true.
You have reasons you joined a network marketing business. Other people with similar reasons and objections will resonate with you.
For example: I joined HB Naturals because I had the opportunity to join a network marketing team that marketed differently – there is no hard sell or recruiting. Box ticked! There is no hounding friends and family to buy my products or join my team. That really appealed to me.
The company have been around for several years and create high quality, pure raw, organic, GMO-free plant based products that are natural and effective for people and pets. Their products and approach reflect my ethics and ethos. I will buy and use their products because their ethics match mine and the products interest me.
Think about the products you sell.
What was the reason you buy and use your products?
Who are the type of people that share the same values and ideals as you?
- Create content and share information without selling
This step sounds counter-intuitive, particularly if you are used to the selling part of network marketing. Share information that your ideal customer will genuinely find helpful. Don’t try to sell anything, don’t be constantly aiming for the close.
Create content around topics your ideal customer wants to know. Consider:
- What specific questions are they asking?
- What problems are they facing?
- What are the potential solutions to these problems?
- What do you know that they don’t and could help them?
- What are they talking about? Check in social groups, comment sections, forums and more.
- What kind of content is your ideal audience sharing?
The content format that you create can be video, social media posts, blog posts, podcasts, newsletters, e-books, workshops and much more.
By sharing information, you take away the pushy sales approach. Instead of always trying to close the sale, you draw people in who are interested in the information you share.
Sharing information is the foundation of attraction marketing. You’re helping people rather than selling to people. You draw people to you who may go on to buy from you or join your network marketing team.
Can you see the difference?
- Present your offer
Because you’ve shared information without being salesy or pushy, people are more likely to be open to your offer. You can find a way to introduce a relevant promotion, a product or even an invitation to join your team.
Even if presenting your offer doesn’t flow naturally as part of your content, you can add a call to action as part of the information you share. Interested people will click through or ask for more information.
And those that don’t?
Well, they’re not interested right now and that’s ok. It takes several touchpoints for people to build trust – and that is a whole other blog post!
